Update

I finally updated my blog and it is already outdated. Another pet has gone to heaven. Junie died on Jan. 24th. Two pets in less than 6 months, I don't think I can handle loosing Cooper too. I hope he sticks around for awhile. :(

Winter and a New Year

Fall is gone, and as they say "old man winter" is here. We started getting snow and cold weather in November, not a good sign. It is now January and we have actually had several really nice days. I pray we have an early spring.
Lane is working for Dome Technology, building domes. Customers use them for churches, schools and storage. He seems to enjoy the work and the people are nice.
I am an office manager for a small company in Taylor. The company recently purchased another small business in the same strip-mall. So I get to run both of them, which keeps me pretty busy. I also travel to Mesa a lot to see family.
Hartley and her family have moved back to Mesa. Jason got a job offer with better advancement potential so off they went. I am happy for them. I know how financial uncertainty can be stressful. So I hope this new job works out great for all of them. Halle loves first grade and Evve has the cutest personality. I miss seeing them every day but I still get to see them when I go to Mesa.
Hillary is a stay-at-home mom. Tyler has his own golf instruction business and is doing very well. What a rough life, playing golf every day. Cade is an adorable 2 year old.
Emma and Brennik are still in Queen Creek, with my other adorable grandson. Brennik is going to school and is working full time so Emma can stay home and care for Brighton.
Our 'pet' family has decreased. We are down to one dog, Cooper. one cat, Junie, one horse, Jane. Rocky passed away last summer. Phil, the goat, we gave to my friend. And we sold a couple of horses.
I feel blessed every day to have such a great family. Thanks for all your support.
I hope this year is better than the last one and the economy recovers and we survive another year with our crumbling government.
Best wishes for a great new year to all that read this.

FALL

I know I am bad blogger. I missed a summer entry but I am on track for fall.
It seems like it was summer just a week ago and now the nights are getting really cold. This time of year is full of family fun events. We have anniversaries, birthdays and of course holidays.
I will try to update our family picture since most of us have changed.
That is it for now.

SPRING!

I am such a bad blogger. I have been so busy and updating the family blog is pretty low on the list.
Spring is finally here and the weather is warming up and of course it is windy. But it is nice to be outside again. It will be time to plant the garden soon. It looks like we will have another big one this year.
Emma and Brennik came up to visit a few weeks ago and we really enjoyed seeing them and little Brighton, and he isn't so little any more. We just had a great weekend with Hillary, Tyler and Cade visiting for Conference weekend. We love seeing all our family.
Grandma finally had her surgery and is healing quite well. Grandpa has been a great caregiver. Hopefully she will recover before he wants to escape to Idaho for the summer.
Lane is laid off again and has been putting in job applications everywhere for anything.
I am enjoying my job as the office manager for the solar exchange. (a small office in Taylor). I work 3 days a week, which isn't too bad. Just enough for some extra money but not too much so I don't get things done at home.
Guess I should sign off, I will post some more current pictures soon.

WINTER

Winter hit hard on New Year's Eve. 25 degrees BELOW zero. The next night was better, it was only 14 BELOW. And then came the snow. This is near the end of January and we still have some lingering snow but for the most part it has all melted away. We are all hoping for warmer weather to come soon and stay for awhile.
The family is all doing well. Lane is working here and there, and I am enjoying my job as an office manager at a local Solar office.
Hartley and her family have moved in with us. Lane and I live upstairs and they live downstairs. We love having the girls close by and I think they like being able to run and play outside. Halle and Evve are so crazy and cute. They keep us laughing. I think it is working out quite well, we all have our own space.
Hillary and her family have moved out of grandma's and into a house of their own. It is in a cute little neighborhood in Mesa. Cade loves having a yard to play in.
Emma and her family are still in Queen Creek. Brennik recently graduated from ASU.
Brighton is turning into quite a chunk (such an adorable little, healthy boy).
We have another addition to our family: a goat! His name is Phil. A family in our ward wanted to give him away and we thought it would be great to have someone eat the weeds. He is so cute. He thinks he is a dog, very playful and he and Halle are best buddies. She plays with him nearly every day. I will have to post some pictures.
Guess that is it for now.

fall fun and holidays

It has been awhile since my last post. Everyone came to Snowflake for some fall fun. We celebrated Cade's first birthday on Friday Oct 29th (his birthday was the day before) and then Saturday we all dressed up for Halloween and went to a ward party and trick or treating together. It was great having everyone all together.
I finally found a job. It is really perfect. I am a receptionist at a local Solar company. But really I do just about anything that needs to be done. I work 3 days a week, and I am off Friday, Sat, Sunday and Monday...long weekends every week, pretty awesome.
Lane found a tempory job working for the irrigation company operating a tractor or backhoe, not sure exactly. It should last through December then he will be looking for work again.
Jason and Hart are doing great. And their girls are adorable, we love seeing them. They have been doing some great stuff to our house, stuff we never had time to do. It looks amazing. Jason has stained the concrete floors and done some painting so far. Can't wait to see what else he has planned to do.
Hillary and Tyler are still at my mom's while she is in Idaho with my dad. They will be finding a place of their own soon as the grandparents will be back in December. and Cade...well, he is an adorable handful. We have finally gotten to be friends. When they were in Snowflake for his birthday I got some really good snuggles.
Emma and Brennik have a cute little guy too. He is starting to really interact and it seems like he is a real person. We enjoyed seeing him for Halloween.
Guess that's it for now.
The Holidays will be here soon. In case I get too busy to send out cards, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all our family and friends.

Summer update

BIG NEWS: We have a new grandson, Brighton Lennox Maxwell was born on July 10th. He weighed 8 pounds 7 oz. Emma and baby are doing great. So in the last year we have added 3 new grandbabies, Evve Aug 14th, Cade Oct 28th and Brighton July 10th. I don't expect this next year to be as productive. We love seeing our daughters, sons-in-law and of course our grandchildren.
Other Family News:
Lane's bank job is almost finished, then he will be looking for another job.
Hartley and her family are living in Pinetop.
Hillary and her family are back in AZ and looking for a place in Scottsdale.
Emma and her family are in Queen Creek.
Animal News: we still have 3 horses, 2 dogs, but only 1 cat. Sprite decided to find another home while I was helping Hillary and Tyler move last month. Junie will be 11 on Aug 6th and Cooper will be 13 on Aug 15th. wow
Summer is turning out to be quite wet. The monsoon has really poured some rain on us and our garden is a swamp. Overall it is producing a lot less than last year, I guess that is why we are encouraged to garden each year so we can master all the obstacles.
That's all the news for now.
